What is City Spies

Hello Readers! My name is Eshaan and today I’ll be talking about a book named City Spies, I don’t really remember the book that much and will probably not be as accurate as the other blog posts. You might be wondering, what is City Spies? Well, City Spies is a book series written by James Ponti, a really good author in my eyes. The main character of the series is Sara Martinez, or better known as Brooklyn, she is an amazing hacker. Sara is 12 years old in the first book. She lives in an awful foster house that takes advantage over the system because instead of using the money on the kids to help them they use it for their personal pleasure. They have locked her and a new younger kid in a closet all night and even on the roof, and they have probably done much more.

Introduction To City Spies

Sara Martinez recently broke into the NYC foster care system because she wanted to expose her terrible, abusive foster parents, but later she finds herself in court. This is because she I guess she hacked the system. They planned to put her in a juvenile detention facility and banning her from computers for the same amount of time. Her first lawyer was originally a man named Randall Stubbs, but someone else interrupts, this man is later known as Mother. He tells her lawyer to check who is the lawyer. As soon as he leaves, Mother pulls out a computer and asks Sara to hack the system again to change him to lawyer, they quickly pick his name which was Gerald Anderson and put it in the system. After they do that Sara tells Mother about her foster parents. Mr. Anderson convinces the judge to let him take Sara to Crunchem Hall. After they leave the court he tells her that it is a school from Matilda and it doesn’t exist. He then tests Sara as the Alpha, basically the leader and the person who makes the calls, they go back to her house to get a shoebox that is important to her. She then also gets payback on her foster parents by locking them up. After she gets everything he recruits her for the MI6 because she is a really good hacker. They go to meet the rest of the team Mother has put together and they live in Scotland. Sara changes her name to Brooklyn and meets the other 4 members including the two “guardians” Mother and Monty. Brooklyn starts training to become a spy and her fellow spy mates I guess help her because they all excel in different areas. After that she receives a mission, I know I skipped a little bit of the story, her mission in a short sentence is basically to climb a large building without gear and hack an important man’s computer. That’s it for the introduction.

More About City Spies

There are 5 books in the City Spies series so far and I’m pretty sure there are more to come. If you are student at Durham Academy you can get the book from the school library or Sora, an online library, if not you get it from a local library or just buy it. Some really important character besides Brooklyn are Mother, Monty, Paris, Sydney, Rio, and Kat.
